June 05 04:57 2020

MESA, AZ – Phoenix Rising Homes is renovating a home to become a sanctuary for homeless veterans. Veteran homelessness is a major problem facing veterans in the United States and this project will be one step towards solving it.

“America is strong because of these men and women, who through selfless actions have fought to defend our country. Now we need to defend them and help them find homes and get the services they need,” Founder of Phoenix Rising Homes, Daniela Muhammad said.

Phoenix Rising Homes will be building their flagship home in Mesa Arizona, a sub-neighborhood of Phoenix. Close to a shopping mall, public transportation, doctors, and major highways, the home will be in a central location in Mesa.

“America is strong because of these men and women, who through selfless actions have fought to defend our country. Now we need to defend them and help them find homes and get the services they need,” Founder of Phoenix Rising Homes, Daniela Muhammad said.

Arizona is working to stop veteran homelessness under the Arizona Action Plan to End Homelessness Among Veterans. The plan coordinates between state and local governments with partners in the community like Phoenix Rising Homes.

“Phoenix Rising Homes is proud to help veterans get back on their feet from serving our country, especially in this time during a global pandemic of COVID-19,” Founder of Phoenix Rising Homes, Renato Maldonado added.

Along with renovating homes for veterans, Phoenix Rising Homes provides third party resident services to the veterans they help.

Medication management is designed to help residents manage their medications, so they take them on time and avoid the dangers of incorrect medication administration. This may include medicine for Post Dramatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) to help cope with what they experienced on the battlefields.

Phoenix Rising Homes also works with 3rd party licensed healthcare professionals who provide medical treatment on an as-needed basis, to ensure the activities of daily living are met. These Home Care Services are important to veterans because they help veterans get back into a normal civilian routine at home.

Case management is a means for achieving client wellness and autonomy through advocacy, communication, education, identification of service resources, and service facilitation.

Phoenix Rising Homes also works with local social workers to provide ongoing support to enhance social functioning and overall well-being. These social work services are important to veterans because social workers provide restorative, therapeutic and personal care for veterans who might be dealing with drug, alcohol or emotional problems

Counselors are available for Behavioral Counseling & Therapy which uses approaches and strategies to help our residents change and improve their behavior and live happier, more fulfilling lives. These services further help veterans cope with traumatic experiences that they may have faced in the military.

Daily support group meeting attendance, along with individual, group, and family therapy services/relapse prevention education. These Recovery Services are important for veterans because support groups help with topics such as dealing with relationship challenges.

Phoenix Rising Homes also provides residents with wellness services on-site, such as Yoga, Meditation, Organic Gardening & Personal Training services. As well as food and groceries, a drug and alcohol-free environment, a washer and dryer, cable television, a telephone, all bills paid (gas, electric, water, trash), and male-only & female-only housing.

The renovation of this new 3,000 square foot home will offer a sanctuary for homeless veterans. Phoenix Rising Homes is motivated to fight for the benefits of U.S veterans in Mesa, Arizona. Not only do they provide homes for America’s brave men and women but also essential services to bring them back into civilian society.
