Automatic Doors Improve Health and Safety at Heritage Village Residences

Considering current health concerns and customer requests for budget friendly door automation, Texas Access Controls (TAC) has provided a Horton 2000B series surface applied bi-part to Heritage Village Residences in Hurst, TX. This application is designed to retain the existing storefront and glass by simply removing the manual swing door panels only.

TAC service technicians also integrated the existing card reader system with Horton’s electric locking device, providing the same security and locking features as the manual doors. This door package can be retrofitted into an existing Horton sliding door and is equipped with motion activation sensors, making it completely touch free for entering and exiting the facility!

Horton’s sliding door locking feature consists of a manual thumb turn on the interior side of the door and a key cylinder on the exterior side of the door. This allows the building owner to manually lock the door. An auto-lock option is available that gets installed inside the horizontal door header (concealed from view). The auto-lock feature allows the door to be locked, preventing the slide motion. There are several options as to how the door can be programmed to allow the auto-lock to engage whether it be during normal business hours, after hours and or controlled remotely via an access control system that is provided by a security company.
