Chandigarh University Distance Learning [ODL] Courses Admission and Exam Center Within Chandigarh No other way to take admission, DEB has not given approval to any Chandigarh University for opening of ODL study centers or Admission Center outside State. Thus, operation of any such center is wholly invalid and must be immediately closed by University, Degree Approved As Per UGC Guideline, University Grant Commission Approved “Nine New ODL Courses” For Chandigarh University  Nine new Open Distance learning  courses have been duly approved for Chandigarh University. This approval has been granted by the University Grant Commission (UGC). It is a fact that the University Grant Commission (UGC) is the only credible commission that has been established to see to the affairs of the Universities and Open Distance Learning in India. This is a rare opportunity for every student who wishes to advance their careers and profession.

Examination Centres territorial jurisdiction

Examination Centres are concerned, please refer to UGC public Notice No.F. 27-1/2012(CPP-II) dt 27th June 2013 which clearly stipulated that a university established or incorporated by or under a State act shall operate only within the territorial jurisdiction allocated. No Other state Exams are allow Out side the State.

Beware Non Verified Website Before Take admission Chandigarh University Distance education

Due to many Non-verified admissions websites, Private players and  racketeers that are currently prowling the internet seeking whom to scam and defraud, Chandigarh university advises students to ensure that they check the website of the University Grant Commission for verification of their admission. Furthermore, students and prospective applicants are also advised to check the websites of Chandigarh University to verify the nine different degree courses that have been validated. 

Unauthorized Web Portals Should Not Be Taken Serious Not pay Fee any Of These website 

In conjunction with University Grant Commission, Chandigarh University has been able to identify some fake websites using the university’s name to offer admission to unsuspecting students. Some of these online portals are Collegesearch, Shiksha, Collegedekho, College Dunia, and many more. These names are web-based portals and publish admission information without the Chandigarh University official approval. Therefore, students are advised not to give any money to these fake websites that are out to offer them fake admission in the name of academic activities.

No Admission Out side territorial jurisdiction

As per UGC norms, no university whether central, state, private university, can’t offer its programmes through franchising agreements with private coaching institutions for admitting learners and conducting courses through open and distance learning and online mode.  To ensure students and prospective candidates receive the necessary online and open education from Chandigarh University, the school has decided not to offer students an affiliate or franchise education. Students are, therefore, advised to seek their admission directly from Chandigarh University. This is necessary so students can cut the middlemen and easily avoid every online portal and institute that could offer them admission on behalf of Chandigarh University.  

DEB has not given approval to any University for opening of ODL study centres outside India

Chandigarh University are hereby requested to offer only those programmers which are approved by UGC/ DEB and follow the policy of UGC on territorial jurisdiction, study centers, and non-franchising of study centers for offering programmers through distance mode. Chandigarh University Online activities at the study center such as admission, examination, conduct of Personal Conduct programmers (PCPs) etc. should be operated by the concerned University. Study centers cannot conduct examinations on their own nor can they award degree/diploma etc. No sub-letting of centers should be allowed and any such center opened by any University/Institution would be in violation of the UGC policy In that case UGC take back Affiliation

DEB has not given approval to any University for opening of ODL study centres outside India. Thus, operation of any such centre is wholly invalid and must be immediately closed.  Chandigarh University are also requested to close down any study centre opened in violation of above policy. Also, any programme not recognized by the UGC/ erstwhile DEC and wherever necessary by other Apex regulatory bodies, should not be offered through distance mode.

DEB Guideline for ODL Course

All activities of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) including admission, counselling sessions, contact programmes, programme delivery and examinations are strictly conducted within the territorial jurisdiction,” he added.

As per norms, no university whether central, state, private or deemed to be university, can offer its programmes through franchising agreements with private coaching institutions for admitting learners and conducting courses through open and distance learning and online mode.

Adherence to duration of academic session, prohibition of franchising agreement and ensuring all activities are within territorial jurisdiction are on the checklist issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) for students before enrolling in distance learning programmes.

Strictly as per UGC notification

“Please ensure that the minimum duration, nomenclature and qualification for degree programme under which they are enrolling is strictly as per UGC notification on specification of degrees and its amendments,” said UGC Secretary Rajnish Jain in a notice listing the precautions need too be taken by students before enrolling in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes.

Students Advice Don’t take admission in prohibited programmes Not Allow to 

The students have also been advised against taking admission in programmes which are prohibited in distance learning including engineering, medicine, law, dental, pharmacy, nursing, architecture, physiotherapy, agriculture, hotel management, culinary studies, valuation of real estate and MPhil or Phd programmes in any discipline Or Those Programs not approved by UGC.
