On the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, the Dragon Boat Festival arrives as scheduled. As one of China’s four major traditional festivals, the Dragon Boat Festival was inscribed on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009.

The festival originated from ancient summer solstice customs aimed at warding off evil spirits and epidemics.

Later, it took on profound patriotic significance as a commemoration of the patriotic poet Qu Yuan, who drowned himself in a river.

Today, customs such as dragon boat racing, eating zongzi (rice dumplings), hanging mugwort, and wearing sachets continue across the country.

This year, Newclears Company organized special activities featuring zongzi-making and mugwort-hanging.

It is worth noting that the Dragon Boat Festival is actually China’s earliest “hygiene and disease prevention festival.”

As a leader in the hygiene products industry, Newclears remains committed to producing high-quality diapers and wipes to provide safe care for our next generation. In the midsummer of May, when mosquitoes breed and diseases are prevalent, our ancestors used mugwort to repel mosquitoes, realgar to detoxify, and sachets to ward off evil spirits—demonstrating the simple yet profound health wisdom of our forebears. Newclears remains true to our founding mission and has launched a new product in the hygiene and disease prevention category: “Daily Disinfectant Wipes.” By valuing the integration of traditional customs with modern life, we ensure this ancient festival continues to thrive with renewed vitality.
