South Florida’s girls wrestling program has reached a new milestone as Coach Sean Kirtz and team claimed 1st Place at the AAU National Duals in their pool, one of the nation’s most competitive wrestling tournaments. The championship is a defining moment not only for the team but also for the continued rise of girls wrestling throughout South Florida.
The title belongs first and foremost to the 36 athletes, whose determination, discipline, and commitment made the victory possible. 15 of the athletes earned All-American status. Competing against many of the top teams in the country, the wrestlers displayed exceptional skill, resilience, and teamwork throughout the tournament. Their relentless effort on the mat earned them the national championship and showcased the talent that continues to emerge from South Florida. The progressive team won Gold in their respective pool and the all-star team took home a trophy for placing as one of the top teams in the country also
