In July 5 to 12, the 47th world chemistry congress was held at the palais des conferences in Paris, France. As one of the corporations establishing IUPAC-Zhejiang NHU International Award for Advancements in Green Chemistry, NHU was invited to attend the conference.

IUPAC, International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry, marked its 100^th birthday in 2019. After development for a century，IUPAC has played an irreplaceable role in the development of chemistry and is managing the periodic table of chemical elements. NHU expressed its congratulations.

In green chemistry forum of the conference, Li Haoran, the honorary President of the company research institute, delivered a speech on behalf of NHU. He introduced the company’s development concept of “creating wealth, balance and sustainability”, and the practice of green chemistry in the company, to show NHU’s dedication in chemistry industry.

At the closing ceremony on July 12, the award IUPAC-Zhejiang NHU International Award for Advancements in Green Chemistry, which was jointly established by NHU and IUPAC was awarded for the first time. Zhou Qifeng, President of IUPAC, Mr. Pietro, President of green chemistry branch, and Li Haoran presented certificates of award to the four chemical experts who won the prize.

This is the first academic award jointly established by a Chinese enterprise and IUPAC. The award covers all relevant topics in the field of green chemistry, and mainly recognizes the contributions of the winners in the work of green chemistry.

To help the development of green chemistry

Environmental protection is the top priority of chemical enterprises. The purpose of the award is to attract more talents to the construction of green chemistry and promoting scientific innovation in chemistry. Scientific progress can lead to the upgrading tools. The original tools and mode of production will be replaced, greener ones will take its way. So Scientific progress can lead to greener development.

This award fully shows that NHU assumes social responsibilities and actively promotes the development of green chemistry.

The more international NHU

By attending the conference and co-establishing the award with IUPAC, NHU exposed itself more to the world. More and more chemists have learned about NHU’s development philosophy, practice and social responsibility and its ambition to contribute for a better world.

In the future, NHU will continue to adhere to the enterprise mission of “innovating fine chemical industry, improving quality of life”, devote itself to green chemistry and green development and promote continuous progress of chemical industry so as to make greater contribution to meet people’s need for better life.
