“I am 24 years old, living near Annapolis, Maryland. I am self-publishing, and this will be my debut novel. I grew up in Massachusetts along with my two sisters. I am an avid reader and love to write with the support of my two cats. My favorite books are those that have a romance between enemies and lovers, so I included that in my story. As a result, the book will become a series. I spend most of my time writing in cafes, and I have developed a hobby of trying new drinks as I work,” the author of Promised Shadows, MK Ahearn, says, adding that she will continue to do so while writing book 2. 

To write this book, MK Ahearn was inspired by her love for fantasy literature. She was inspired to write this book because she loved elemental fighting in Avatar the Last Airbender and wanted to create a fantasy book with a fighting style blend.
